( 1st -2nd July 2017 ) Penang Anime Matsuri Summer Wonderland 2017 was held at SPICE Arena, Penang, This event was organised by SOZO Pte. Ltd and brought to the public by the Penang State Government and Penang Global Tourism, supported by the Consulate-General of Japan in Penang.
This year, there were more than 42,000 visitors attended the event. The Consulate-General of Japan in Penang organized a free Yukata Try-On, Yoyo balloon D.I.Y. and distribution of Niponica magazines, Travel Japan pamphlets and video screening of Japan tourism and culture.

| Free Yutaka Try-On |
| At the Yukata Try-On corner. There were 55 participants on 1st July and another 55 participants on 2nd July. Total 110 visitors included male, female and young children had participated in this activity. |

| Naruto Cosplay Wearing |
| The booth of Consulate-General of Japan also provided a “ Naruto” costume for visitors to wear and experience Cosplay at the festival. |

| Free Niponica Magazines, Travel Japan pamphlets and Japan Video Topics screening |
| About 400 copies of Niponica magazines and Japan travel pamphlets were distributed during the 2-days event. The video screening to of “Japan Video Topics” also managed to attract quite some numbers of visitors at our booth. |

| D.I.Y. Yoyo Balloon |
There were approximately 150 Yoyo balloons being used for the D.I.Y. Yoyo Balloon session.
There were many local Malaysian children as well as children nation such as United States, Taiwan, Korea and China participated in D.I.Y. Yoyo Balloon session. |
