The 37th Japanese Language Speech Contest (Penang, Perlis & Kedah Preliminary)

(Penang, May 7th)
The Japanese Language Speech Contest was held at Bayview Hotel Georgetown Penang, jointly organized by the Japan Foundation in Kuala Lumpur, Consulate-General of Japan in Penang, Penang Japanese Language Society and Penang Japanese Association. This annual contest has marked its 37th years in the Northern Region of Malaysia.

This annual contest aims to provide local Japanese language students a platform to express their opinions and views, as well as to foster friendship between the people from the two countries.

The Japanese Speech Contest is divided into two categories. Open Category (17 years old and above) and Students Category (16 years and below). The top three winners from the Penang Preliminary (Open Category) had also participated in the The 32nd Japanese Speech (National Level), which was held on 15th May at The Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur.

The 30th Japanese Speech Contest 2016 (Ipoh Preliminary)

The Japanese Speech Contest (Ipoh Preliminary) was held on 23rd April 2016 at Ipoh City & Country Club.
The champion at the Ipoh Preliminary Contest Mr Lee Chou Yew and 1st runner up Mr Hew Lu Yee have also won the 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively at the 32nd Japanese Speech Contest for Open Category (National Level).

The 32nd  Japanese Speech Contest for Open Category (National Level)

On May 15, the 32nd Annual Japanese Speech Contest (National Level, Open category), which was jointly organized by the Japan Foundation, the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur and Japan Overseas Enterprises Association was held at the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur. The Champion and 1st runner up at the National level contest were rewarded a study trip to Japan sponsored by Japan Foundation.
