School Caravan : Sekolah Menengah Sains Kepala Batas

(Penang, Mar 29) 28 students from Sekolah Menengah Sains Kepala Batas joined the School Caravan at Consulate-General of Japan. They were accompanied by their Japanese language teacher, Mr. Ooi Guan Lee.

The event started with a welcoming speech given by Consul, Mr.Nishizawa, followed by Japan Quiz session. Students who gave the correct answer were given an Origami Paper Crane as a souvenir.

The next programme was a singing session conducted by Ms. Yamamura. She played a song with keyboard and music bell and she also taught the students how to play with the music bell.

An origami workshop was held after the singing session. Ms Yamamura demonstrated how to fold and cut a cherry blossom with the Origami paper. The students also tried to make the origami by themselves.

A group photo and souvenirs were handed to the students after the event.

The Consulate-General of Japan conducts school caravan from time to time upon request from schools, introducing and promoting mutual understanding of Japanese language, custom, culture and tradition to Malaysian students.
