School Caravan: Sekolah Menengah Sains Kepala Batas, Penang

(Penang, May 21) 39 students from Sekolah Menengah Sains Kepala Batas visited the Consulate-General of Japan under the School Caravan programme.

They were accompanied by 2 school teachers, one of them was Mr. Ooi Guan Lee. The programme started with a presentation of “Introduction to Japan” conducted by Mr. Steven, followed by singing and origami session conducted by Japanese volunteer, Ms. Yamamura.

Ms. Yamamura played the keyboard while the students enjoyed singing along with actions. The students also learned how to fold the music book after the singing session. Origami session was conducted right after the singing session. Students made 2 Origami items under the guidance of Ms. Yamamura.

Consulate-General of Japan conducts a school caravan from time to time upon request of schools, introducing and promoting mutual understanding in terms of Japanese language, custom, and culture
