The 36th Japanese Language Speech Contest (Penang, Perlis & Kedah Preliminary)

(Penang, May 9th)
The Japanese Language Speech Contest was held at Bayview Hotel Georgetown Penang. This annual contest has marked its 36th years in the Northern Region of Malaysia. The contest was jointly organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Penang and the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur with the co-operation of the Penang Japanese Language Society and Penang Japanese Association.

Ms. Yeong Jing Ning from University Science of Malaysia (Penang Campus) was the champion for the contest. She later represented Northern Region to participate in the 31st National Japanese Language Speech Contest in Kuala Lumpur on May 17th and also emerged as the champion in the Open Category and was given a free study tour to Japan.

The purpose of this speech contest is to improve the Japanese language skills, allowing the Japanese language students to exchange thier opinions and thoughts in Japanese language and develop the cross cultural communication exchange.

The Japanese Speech Contest is divided into two categories. Open Category (18 years old and above) and Students category (17 years and below).

The 29th Japanese Speech Contest 2015 (Ipoh Preliminary)
The Japanese Speech Contest (Ipoh Preliminary) was also held on 9th May 2015 at the Ipoh City & Country Club.

The 31st  Japanese Speech Contest for Open Category (National Level)
On May 17, the 31st Annual Japanese Speech Contest (National Level, Open category), which was jointly organized by the Japan Foundation, the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur and Japan Overseas Enterprises Association was held at the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur. Top two winners at the National level contest were rewarded a free study trip to Japan.
