School Caravan: Sekolah Menengah Sultan Abdul Halim, Kedah
(Penang, Jan 10) 35 students from Sekolah Menengah Sultan Abdul Halim, Kedah visited Consulate-General of Japan for School Caravan programme. The students are from Form 2 and Form 3 classes and they were accompanied by their Japanese language teacher Mr. Sugandaran. Japanese language teacher Mr. Tajularif from Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid and Mr. Ezze from Sekolah Menengah Sains Pokok Sena also joined the tour to observe the school caravan.

The school caravan featured traditional and contemporary Japanese children's games such as Koma ( 独楽), Otedama (御手玉) , Card games, Yoyo balloons and etc. They were demonstrated by Japanese volunteers and played along with the students. The students enjoyed the games very much and they felt happy that they had the opportunity to learn new games from a different culture. In addition, Mr. Sugandaran said this event had given a new exposure and knowledge to the students. |
