The 30th Japanese Language Speech Contest (Penang Preliminary)

The Speech Contest was held on August 8, 2009 at the Caring Society Complex. There were one contestant in the Student Category, eight contestants in the Open Category and four participants in the Guest Speaker Category.

The top three winners in the Open Category will represent Penang at Final Contest in Kuala Lumpur on August 16, 2009. From the Final Contest, the first and second winners of Open Category will be rewarded all-paid study tour programme to Japan for 8 days.

The first, second and third winners in the Open Category in the Penang Preliminary with their titles are:
1) Ms. Ling Tse Sieng, “Japanese and Environment”
2) Ms. Shirley Ng Soon Lin, “My Special Person”
3) Ms. Siti Farhah Muhammad Ghazali, “Japanese Language and I”

The top three winners from the Open Category are with panel of judges (wearing blazers). Ms. Lee Ming Chee, with her title I’m Fat. Guest speaker Ms. Liu Pau Lee with her title Things Different between Japan and Malaysia. Guest speaker Mr. Sebastian Ade Prasetyo with his title Living Alone.

 

Japanese Language Speech Contest 2009 (Ipoh Preliminary)

The Speech Contest (Ipoh Preliminary) was held on August 9, 2009, one day after the Penang Preliminary. The Contest, which was held at Ipoh City Country Club, had 6 contestants in the Open Category. The top three winners shown below, will represent Ipoh at the National Level of Japanese Language Speech Contest in Kuala Lumpur on August 16, 2009.

The first winner is Mr. Khit Kar Hong, with his title Ways to Improve Japanese Language. The second winner is Mr. Chai Kok Seng, with his speech Learning Japanese Language: A Never-Ending Journey. Mr. Yong Wing Yi, Do You Go for Tuition? had won him the third prize.
