Japanese Language Speech Contest 2011
The 32nd Japanese Language Speech Contest (Penang Preliminary)
The 32nd Japanese Language Speech Contest was held on 7 May 2011 at the Caring Society
Complex, Penang. This year, six students participated in the Student Category and eight contestants
took part in the Open Category.

This speech contest is jointly organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Penang and the Japan
Foundation Kuala Lumpur with the co-operation of the Penang Japanese Language Society, Penang
Japanese Association and Malaysian Japanese Society. The contest is held yearly with the purpose
of providing Japanese language learners with the chance to present their Japanese language skills.

The top three winners of the Open Category will represent Penang
at the National Level Contest to be held in Kuala Lumpur on
24 September 2011. The first prize winner of the National Level
will be rewarded with an 8-day all-paid study tour to Japan and
the second prize winner will receive an air ticket to Japan.

The 25th Japanese Speech Contest 2011 (Ipoh Preliminary)
The Japanese Speech Contest (Ipoh Preliminary) was held on 3 September
2011 at the Ipoh City & Country Club. Five contestants took part
in each category in the contest. Two winners from the Open Category
will represent Ipoh at the National Level of Japanese Language Speech
Contest in Kuala Lumpur which will be held on 24 September 2011
at SMK (P) Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur.

The 27th Japanese Speech Contest for Open Category (National Level)
The National Level Japanese Speech Contest 2011 was held at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan
Perempuan Jalan Ipoh at Kuala Lumpur on 24th September 2011. Ms. Yap Kah Kay and Ms. Voon Sui
Yien, the representatives from the Penang preliminary won the first prize and third prize respectively for
the National Level. Ms. Yap Kah Kay was rewarded with a one week study tour to Japan.
