To introduce the Japanese culture, a cosplay (costume play) was featured during the “Global Village
Night” on 19 February where many were seen dressed up in their favourite anime characters. The
cosplayers not only showed their costumes but also sand and performed traditional and anime
dancing. This popular culture originating from Japan has been gaining much attention from countries
around the world.
Japanese traditional culture such as Ikebana and Kimono were also introduced to the students at the
one-day workshop on 24 February. The students were very keen to learn the Japanese culture through
these activities.
