The 33rd Japanese Language Speech Contest (Penang Preliminary)

The 33rd Japanese Language Speech Contest was held on 5th May 2012 at the Caring Society Complex, Penang. This year, there were total of 32 participants in the contest., which 228% increase from the previous year.

This speech contest is jointly organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Penang and the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur with the co-operation of the Penang Japanese Language Society, Penang Japanese Association and Malaysian Japanese Society.

The contest is held yearly with the purpose of providing Japanese language learners with the chance to present their Japanese language skills and provide them a platform to express their opinions and views.

As this year commemorates the 30th Anniversary of Look East Policy, five winners (usually 3) from the open category have been chosen to proceed to the National level contest which will be held on 13th May 2012 at The Japanese Club, Kuala Lumpur.

The 26th Japanese Speech Contest 2012 (Ipoh Preliminary)

The Japanese Speech Contest (Ipoh Preliminary) was held on 6th May 2012 at the Ipoh City & Country Club. This year there were 15 contestants took part in the contest. Top Two winners from the Open Category will represent Ipoh at the National Level Contest in Kuala Lumpur on 13th May 2012 at The Japanese Club.

The 28th Japanese Speech Contest for Open Category (National Level)

The National Level Japanese Speech Contest 2012 was held at The Japanese Club at Kuala Lumpur on 13th May 2012. Ms. Tam Min Er , the representative from the Penang preliminary won the Second Prize and she was rewarded with a full paid 8 days study tour to Japan.
