| This speech contest is jointly organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Penang and the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur with the co-operation of the Penang Japanese Language Society, Penang Japanese Association and Malaysian Japanese Society.
 The contest is held yearly with the purpose of providing Japanese language learners with the chance to present their Japanese language skills and  provide them a platform to express their opinions and views.

 |    The 26th Japanese Speech Contest 2012 (Ipoh Preliminary) The Japanese Speech Contest (Ipoh Preliminary) was held on 6th  May 2012 at the Ipoh City & Country Club.  This year there were 15 contestants took part in the contest. Top Two winners from the Open Category will represent Ipoh at the National Level Contest in Kuala Lumpur  on 13th  May  2012 at The Japanese Club.

Ms. Tam Min Er , the representative from the Penang preliminary won the Second Prize and she was rewarded with a full paid 8 days study tour to Japan.
