Consul – General Noda attended the opening ceremony of “Toray USM knowledge transfer centre” newly built at Universiti Sains Malaysia(USM) campus on 7th. The Minister of Higher Education, Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, President of Toray industries Japan, Mr. Nikkaku, Managing Director of Toray Malaysia, Mr. Yoshimura, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, Dr. Miyagawa and many other guests attended.
Since Toray Malaysia has established 42 years ago, Toray has cooperated with several organizations and institutions in the area of education. Toray Malaysia contributed RM4 million in order to build the Centre at USM’s main campus in Penang, hometown of Toray Malaysia. Besides preserving the local culture and heritage of the nation, the Centre will also help to link up local and international researchers and collaborators.
