Consul – General Noda’s activity: OEM signing ceremony of Halal sweet “Daifuku”
       Consul – General Noda attended the OEM signing ceremony of Halal Daifuku (Japanese soft rice cake) between Tokachi Seika(Hokkaido, Japan) and Ambang Dorongan (Kedah). Menteri Besar of Kedah, Mukhriz Tun Mahathir also witnessed the ceremony.

       This project was initiated by Obihiro Chamber of Commerce and Industry and supported by the JICA partnership programme - “Hokkaido Food Zone-Food Valley Tokachi, Human Resources Development for the Southeast Asian Food Industry with Support for Overseas Expansion.” Under this program, Japanese experts visit Malaysia while Malaysian trainees visit Japan.

       They plan to produce approximately 10 thousand of Daifuku per month with 4 different flavours (red bean, green bean, kaya and green tea) and distribute to the local market as the first step under this OEM agreement.

       Menteri Besar, Mukhriz in his speech, welcomed the cooperation between the local and Japanese company and he expected the joint venture to bring good opportunity in providing local halal food to the international market.
