Consul-General Noda’s Activity: Opening Ceremony of Penang Campus of
Toyohashi University of Technology
 
    On 4 December, Consul-General Noda attended the opening ceremony of Penang Campus of Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT) of Japan. Guest of Honours included YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister of the State of Penang, H.E. Mr. Shigeru Nakamura, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia and Prof. Dato’ Dr See Ching Mey, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University Sains Malaysia. TUT was represented by its President, Prof. Yoshiyuki Sakaki. TUT Penang Campus is one of the first higher education undertaking overseas by Japanese National Universities.

    YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng welcomed the first Japanese national university to set up its foreign centre in Penang as learning centre and interaction platform for young Malaysian and Japanese. Consul-General Noda expressed his expectation that the TUT Penang Campus would strengthen ties between Penang, Malaysia and Japan.
