Consul-General of Japan at Penang, Mr Ryuji Noda, attended the “Visit Japan Travel Trade Meet” on 11 September.
The “Visit Japan Travel Meet” was coorganized by Japan Tourism Agency and Japan National Tourist Organization in order to provide face-to-fact opportunities for Japanese representatives from local authorities, tourist spots and travel agents to brief local travel agents in Penang about attractiveness of travel to Japan and to make business negotiation among themselves. This was the third time of this meeting held in Penang. Previous meetings were held in September last year and in March this year.
Consul-General Noda, in his opening remarks, explained that the number of Malaysian people who visit Japan is increasing after Japanese government’s announcement of
visa exemption arrangement for Malaysian nationals to Japan in July and, looked forward to continued cooperation of local travel agents in Penang in Japan’s efforts to increase Malaysian tourists to visit Japan and to learn Japan’s charm.
