Consul – General Noda, Visited to Honda’s New Plant
 
  Consul – General Ryuji Noda attended the opening ceremony of Boon Siew Honda’s new plant which is located in Batu Kawan, Penang on 12th March, 2013.
 
  Boon Siew Honda started to produce motorcycles in Malaysia since 1969 and a total of 4.4 million units have been manufactured. New facility, which is completed near the second Penang Bridge under construction in Batu Kawan, occupies a 23.7ha site and 44 thousand square meters floor space. The plant has an annual production capacity of 300 thousand units and approximately 1100 staff. Boon Siew Honda expects to consolidate Manufacturing, Sales and Customer Service into one location for management efficiency by transfer to the new facility
 
  Dato’ Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia, Mr. Takanobu Ito, President & CEO of Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Executives of Boon Siew Honda related companies and many other guests attended the ceremony.
 
  Minister Mustapa said in his speech, “ 56 years relation between Malaysia and Boon Siew Honda has been related with Malaysia’s Look East policy. It could be said that Boon Siew Honda had implemented the part of Malaysian development. I, on behalf of Malaysian government, express our appreciation to Boon Siew Honda, one of the successful multinational corporations. New plants’ operation will contribute to a further development of Malaysia and job creation.”
