Consul – General Ryuji Noda attended factory completion ceremony of TOYO TYRE MALAYSIA SDN BHD on 8th May,2013 in Taiping, Perak.

Secretary – General of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia, Dr. Rebecca Fatima, Chairman of Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd, Kenji Nakakura, Managing Director of Toyo Tyre Malaysia, Kanji Kasai, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, Shigeru Nakamura and many other guests attended the ceremony.

New factory has constructed with an investment of RM 800 million on a 148 – acre site as the largest oversea factory of Toyo Tire & Rubber. This facility will initially produce 2.5 million tyres a year and will double that to 5 million tyres in 2015. Malaysian factory has important strategic role for Toyo Tire & Rubber’s supply expansion in Asian region because Toyo Tire & Rubber has a global plan in which it will produce and supply 45 million tyres to the world by 2015. |

Facility is located near the existing factory of Silverstone Berhad, Malaysian top tyre brand and the acquired company by Toyo Tire & Rubber in 2010. Factory is planned to not only supply world class quality tyres to the world market but also expand its sales in Malaysia making use of Silverstone’s distribution network. |

Secretary – General of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia, Dr. Rebecca Fatima said in her speech that Malaysia has growth potential in the tyre industry and urged economic integration in the region. She praised Toyo Tire & Rubber for its farsighted decision that it selected Malaysia as the strategic base in Asia – Pacific region and expressed her hope that environment-friendly tires of Toyo Tyre will contribute to reduce carbon dioxide. |

Toyo Tyre implements environment conscious initiatives by installing with solar panels and LED lights in its administrative building and plans to conduct CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). |
