2026/9/29
On September 29th, a group of students from Toyo University visited the Consulate-General of Japan in Penang, together with students from Universiti Sains Malaysia. This visit was conducted as part of a training and exchange program spanning approximately one month. During their stay in Penang, the group will participate in English language training, fieldwork, and cultural experiences.
Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, briefed the students on Japan-Malaysia relations with a focus on Penang, the activities of Japanese companies, the role of the Consulate-General, and cultural and educational exchanges. The Consulate-General's Security Officer then provided practical safety advice for their stay, covering topics such as theft prevention and road safety. The briefings were followed by a lively Q&A session, during which the students actively asked questions on a range of topics.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Penang remains committed to promoting educational and people-to-people exchanges between Japanese universities and northern Malaysia, as well as providing opportunities for the younger generation to deepen mutual understanding between Japan and Malaysia.
