Consul-General Visits ViTrox Corporation Berhad

On September 23rd, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, visited ViTrox Corporation Berhad in Batu Kawan, Penang, where he received a briefing from Mr. Chu Jenn Weng, President & Group CEO, on the company’s business activities, trends in semiconductor- and AI-related demand, human resource development, and business ties with Japanese companies.
ViTrox, established in 2000, is a Malaysian technology company that develops machine vision, optical inspection and X-ray inspection systems and technologies used in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing processes, and serves customers in markets around the world. The company also places strong emphasis on research and development and has expanded its activities into a wide range of sectors, including AI servers, automotive and aerospace applications.
Mr. Chu explained that growing AI-related demand is further increasing the importance of inspection technologies in the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors, and that ViTrox maintains broad business ties with Japan, including the procurement of various components from Japanese companies. He also explained the company’s efforts to develop technical talent, including the establishment of its own educational institution and the acceptance of a large number of interns. Mr. Machida expressed his hope that technological and business cooperation with Japanese companies, as well as human resource exchanges with Japanese universities, would further develop.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Penang will continue to closely follow developments involving promising companies in Malaysia, particularly in Penang, as well as companies and industries being promoted by the Federal and State Governments, and will do its utmost to support further industrial cooperation between Japan and Malaysia.
