Japanese Film Festival (JFF) 2026

On September 16th, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, attended a special screening of the film “The Hotel of my Dream” at Hin Bus Depot in George Town, held as a prelude to the Japanese Film Festival 2026. Despite the outdoor setting, the event attracted a large audience, who enjoyed the Japanese film.
The Japanese Film Festival 2026, organized by the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur, will be held from September 17th to 20th at the GSC cinema in Gurney Plaza（www.jfklevents.com/jff2026/）. During the festival, a wide variety of Japanese films, ranging from new releases to classic works, will be screened.
The festival offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Japanese culture, society, and sensibilities through Japanese cinema. We encourage everyone to visit the venue and appreciate the Japanese films.
