On September 4th, a group of students from the Faculty of Education at Kyoei University visited the Consulate-General of Japan in Penang. The visit was part of an approximately two-week internship program, during which the students will visit educational institutions, including a local university and international schools in Penang, and take part in a range of cultural activities.

Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, briefed the students on the role of the Consulate-General, Japan-Malaysia relations with a particular focus on Penang, the activities of Japanese companies in the region, and ongoing cultural and educational exchanges. The Consulate-General's Security Officer then provided practical safety advice for their stay, covering topics such as theft prevention and road safety. The briefings were followed by a lively question-and-answer session, during which the students actively participated and asked questions on a range of topics.

The Consulate-General is committed to promoting people-to-people and educational exchanges between Japanese universities and northern Malaysia, as well as creating opportunities for the younger generation to deepen mutual understanding between Japan and Malaysia.
