Consul-General Exchanges Views with Representatives of Shibaura Institute of Technology and Others

On August 7th, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, received representatives of Shibaura Institute of Technology and others and exchanged views on engineering education, human resource development, industry-academia collaboration, and related matters in Japan and Malaysia.
During the meeting, the participants discussed a broad range of topics, including the development of science and engineering professionals needed by industries in both countries, the importance of incorporating practical experience into education, and initiatives to nurture students with an international perspective.
They also exchanged views on various possibilities for universities and companies in Japan and Malaysia to deepen cooperation by drawing on their respective knowledge and experience through joint research, personnel exchanges, and practical education.
Mr. Machida expressed his hope that exchanges among universities, companies, and relevant organizations in both countries would further develop and contribute to the education and development of future generations. The Consulate-General will continue to support such positive initiatives.
