Visit to Penang Silicon Island

On Tuesday, June 23rd, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, together with Mr. Hideyuki Yazama, Deputy Consul-General, and representatives of Japanese companies, visited Penang Silicon Island, which is currently under development off the southern coast of Penang Island, and subsequently received a briefing at the office of Penang Infrastructure Corporation. The project, like the LRT, is an important project for revitalizing Penang’s economy. The Consulate-General intends to continue visiting the site periodically and collecting useful information for Japanese companies.
