On Thursday, June 18th, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, attended the “Penang Economic Forum 2026,” co-organized by RHB Bank and the “Penang Institute.” The forum discussed the Penang economy and the promotion of SMEs, and YB Steven Sim, Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, spoke about the transition from “Made in Penang” and “Made in Malaysia” to “Made by Penang” and “Made by Malaysia.” The Consulate-General will continue to closely follow the promotion of SMEs in Penang and Malaysia.
