Meeting with Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow

On May 5th, Mr. Shinya MACHIDA, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, held a dinner meeting with Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and exchanged views with members of the local Japanese community. I have had the opportunity to sit with the Chief Minister at numerous meetings, and we have deepened our relationship through activities such as accompanying him during his visit to Japan last September for “Penang Week” at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. However, this was the first time he invited CM to the official residence for a direct interaction with the leaders of the local Japanese community. We believe it was a productive occasion, as we were able to hear about the Chief Minister’s achievements and share the requests of Japanese companies with him.
