Consul-General Attends a Local Charity Event

On April 25th, Mr. Shinya MACHIDA, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, attended the “Gold Threads Programme” event organized by “Artisans International Penang (AIG)” at a hotel in the city. AIG is a charity initiative conceived in 2020—when the COVID-19 pandemic was raging—by Ms. Suraya Ibrahim, the wife of then-Consul-General Orikasa, and the wife of the then-Consul-General of Indonesia. It was launched in 2021 and is now celebrating its fifth anniversary. The event, enriched by the cultures of various countries, was wonderful, and we feel proud that our country is deeply involved in such charitable initiatives.
