On May 4, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, attended the press conference for "Miss Penang Bon Odori Contest 2026," held at KOMTAR, together with YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO for Tourism & Creative Economy, Ms. Ooi Ean Ping, Honorary Treasurer and Event Coordinator of the Malaysian Japanese Society (MJS, the organizer), and other related parties.
