Meeting with Representatives Involved in Japanese Language Education and Nihongo Partners

On April 21, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, hosted a meeting at the Consul-General’s official residence with local representatives involved in Japanese language education, the Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur (JFKL), and Nihongo Partners. Participants engaged in a friendly and productive exchange of views on the current state of Japanese language education and efforts to promote the Japanese language in the region. Mr. Kazunori Matsunaga, Deputy Director and Head of the Japanese Language Department at JFKL, also provided an overview of the Japanese language education programs offered by his office.
On the same day, an orientation session was conducted for nine members of the 12th batch of Nihongo Partners, who are currently active in the states of Penang, Perak, Kedah, Terengganu, and Kelantan. The session included briefings on upcoming Japanese cultural events as well as safety information in Malaysia.
