Consul-General Attends 46th “Sakura Cup” Tennis Tournament Gathering

On February 8th, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, attended the lunch gathering for the 46th “Sakura Cup” Tennis Tournament (held at Penang Sports Club). This tennis tournament, which has effectively been held for 50 years, was interrupted for several years due to COVID-19. It is remarkable that this joint event between the Penang Japanese Association and the Penang Sports Club has continued for 50 years. In his address, Mr. Machida expressed his desire to carry this wonderful, mature relationship forward into the future.
