Consul-General Visits Universiti Malaysia Terengganu

On February 16th, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, visited Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and exchanged views with Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Bin Ibrahim, Vice Chancellor, and other faculty members on future academic exchanges with Japan. UMT has 16 faculty members who obtained degrees in Japan and has accumulated decades of research exchange with Japan. The university is considering further academic exchange with Japan in fisheries and marine fields, as well as promoting Japanese language education. The Consulate-General intends to promote multifaceted cooperation by connecting UMT with relevant Japanese government agencies and other relevant organizations.
