Consul-General Visits the Blue Mansion

On January 29th, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, visited the Blue Mansion (Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion) in Georgetown. Guided by the owner, Madam Loh-Lim, he toured the building. Madam Loh-Lim shared stories about the challenges of the eight-year renovation project. She is also the Vice Chairperson of the Penang Heritage Trust, which played a pivotal role in securing Georgetown's World Heritage designation. We express our respect for her dedication. The Consulate-General intends to continue monitoring developments related to World Heritage matters.
