MJIIT Personnel visits the Consulate-General

On January 23rd, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, received a visit from personnel associated with the Malaysia Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), located within Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). We learned that MJIIT, which conducts joint projects with numerous Japanese universities, research institutions, and Japanese companies, also operates within the jurisdiction of the Consulate-General. Furthermore, it engages in initiatives related to human resource development with some Japanese companies. Given the unprecedented maturity of Japan-Malaysia/Penang relations, the relationship with MJIIT—which can be considered one of the symbols of the Eastern Policy—is expected to become even more important than ever before.
