Consul-General Attends Penang Port Commission's 70th Anniversary Celebration

On January 12, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, attended the 70th anniversary celebration of the Penang Port Commission held at a Penang hotel. The Commission is a national agency responsible for managing Penang Port and serves as the regulatory body overseeing the Port of Penang Company. Penang Port is not only a logistics and tourism hub for Penang and northern Malaysia but also a port of critical importance to the Malaysian economy as a whole. The Consulate-General will continue to maintain and deepen its relationship with the Penang Port Commission and the Port of Penang Company, both of which are closely connected to the operations of Japanese companies.
