Consul-General Attends Annual Dinner of the Perak-Malaysia-Japan Friendship Society

Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, attended the annual dinner of the Perak-Malaysia-Japan Friendship Society held in Ipoh, Perak State, on November 15th. Despite not being held for five years due to COVID-19, this PMJFS event was very well attended, with approximately 200 participants. At the venue, works by Professor Tokiwa Sasaki of the Yamato Ikenobo School, visiting from Fukuoka City (Ipoh's sister city), were also exhibited. Her large-scale piece, incorporating floral materials from Ipoh, added splendor to the dinner. The PMJFS has long been steadily implementing Japanese language education locally. The Consulate General intends to explore providing support in collaboration with the Japan Foundation.
