Penang Yosakoi 2025

On June 21, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul General of Japan in Penang, attended the Penang Yosakoi 2025 at the Esplanade (Padang Kota Lama), together with YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO for Tourism & Creative Economy, and Ms. Emi Yamazaki, President of the Pink Hibiscus Club.
The event attracted a large number of visitors until late into the night with a spectacular and dynamic Yosakoi parade of 30 Malaysian and international teams, as well as food street, fun carnival, and Japanese idols concert. The Consulate-General of Japan set up a cultural exchange booth, where origami and kirigami workshops were held and Japanese cultural items were displayed.
