Consul General visits Toyohashi University of Technology
2025/5/7

On May 7, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, who was temporarily back in Japan, visited Toyohashi University of Science and Technology (TUT) to exchange views with Mr. Akihiro Wakahara, President, other university officials, and to meet again with fourth-year Penang interns with whom he met last February at his official residence. Mr. Wakahara explained TUT’s basic stance of “scientific analysis of technologies” and its development model of a “spiral structure” that could also incorporate private enterprises. While praying that the university's education and research will make a significant contribution to Japan as a whole, the Consulate-General intends to provide maximum assistance to ensure that (1) the upcoming study tour in Penang for first and second year TUT students and fourth and fifth year KOSEN students of the university and (2) the Penang internship program for fourth year TUT students be a smooth and enlightening experience.
