Visit to Inland Port Perlis

On June 10, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul General of Japan in Penang, on a business trip to Perlis, visited the Inland Port Perlis and was briefed by the company executives and an NCER official on the current status of the Inland Port, which is under construction. Mr. Machida also observed the site. The project will further enhance the connectivity between northern Malaysia and southern Thailand, and in conjunction with the Port of Penang, will facilitate the flow of products from southern Thailand. The construction of various infrastructures for this port will be completed by the end of July, and it will open in September, after which foreign companies and others will be invited to build warehouses. Japanese companies have expressed interest in this facility, and the Consulate-General of Japan will continue to keep a close eye on it.
