Courtesy Call on Vice Chancellor of Universiti Perlis Malaysia (UNiMAP)

On June 10, Mr. Shinya Machida, Consul General of Japan in Penang, visited the State of Perlis to pay a courtesy call on Prof. Dr. Zaliman Sauli, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Perlis Malaysia (UNiMAP). VC was accompanied by the university’s senior staff including Dr. Muhammad Sofwan, President of the Alumni Look East Policy Society (ALEPS). During the visit, Mr. Machida has learned on the strengths of UNiMAP,  the flagship engineering university in Northern Malaysia, in electrical and electronics and mechatronics, the university’s social contribution activities such as sharing its knowledge via the iconic open library and support programs for autistic children in line with the social contribution activities of the University's Chancellor, the Perlis Crown Prince. It was also learned that more than fifty faculty members, including ALEPS members, have earned their degrees from Japanese universities and that due to this fact the university has a close relationship with Japanese universities including Yamanashi University. The Consulate-General of Japan is planning to work with UNiMAP on its Japanese cultural event.
