Courtesy Visit to Perlis Chief Minister

On April 18, Mr Shinya MACHIDA, Consul General of Japan in Penang, visited Perlis to pay a formal courtesy call on Chief Minister, YAB Tuan Mohd Shukri bin Ramli. The Chief Minister and his team expressed their desire for further investment by Japanese businesses, promotion of Japanese tourism, and holding of Japanese cultural events in Perlis. Further discussions on those issues are to be scheduled. The Consulate-General of Japan is committed to further strengthening  the friendly relationship with Perlis, which has been developing  since the visit of the then Their Imperial Highness the Crown Prince and Crown Princess  (the current Emperor and Empress Emeritus) in 1970, due to the steady contribution of Japanese companies to the local economy.
