On September 14, Consul General Kawaguchi attended the Penang Yosakoi Parade 2024 at Karpal Singh Drive, together with YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO for Tourism & Creative Economy, YB Lim Siew Khim, Penang State EXCO for Social Development, Welfare and Non-Islamic Affairs and Ms. Emi Yamazaki, President of the Pink Hibiscus Club.
The very lively event drew crowds of people until late at night, with 25 teams participating in the dance parade, many Japan-related goods, amusement corners, food and drink stands, and many more. The Consulate-General of Japan set up a booth to conduct origami and kirigami workshops and display Japanese cultural items.
