The Consulate-General of Japan in Penang is currently recruiting local staff for Consular and Admin sections. The application outline is as follows.
1. Job description:
(1) Consular Section Staff: Reception and office work (passports, certificates, family and nationality registers, overseas elections, etc.) in Japanese (and some in English).
- Liaise with Malaysian Government offices in English or Bahasa Malaysia
(2) Admin Section Staff: Accounting, general affairs, administrative support for office and official residence, etc.
2. Work location:
Consulate-General of Japan in Penang
3. Scheduled starting date:
About the end of January 2024
4. Working hours:
8:30~16:30 Monday to Friday (except for holidays)
(lunch break: 12:30~13:30)
5. Requirements:
(1) Malaysian nationals or those with residency status that allows them to work in Malaysia (permanent residents, Malaysian spouses, etc.)
(2) Have Malay or English language skills to perform normal duties.
(3) PC skills (Japanese Word, Japanese Excel, etc.)
(4) Japanese language proficiency at the level of JLPT N2 is preferrable.
6. Salary:
Determined upon the regulation of the Consulate-General of Japan in Penang

9. Screening Method:
After being selected by document screening, the Consulate-General of Japan will conduct an interview test at the office to make a selection. All submitted documents will not be returned.
Only short-listed candidates will be contacted by the Consulate-General of Japan for an interview.
