Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project 2022 Handover Ceremony

On 13 June 2023, the handover ceremony for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project 2022 was held at the base of Sungai Ara Community Ambulance Association.
The Government of Japan awarded USD 42,026 (equivalent to RM180,878) through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project to the Association - The Project for Procurement of Vital Life Saving Equipment for Emergency Ambulance Services in Penang.
The handover ceremony was attended by Y. Bhg. Dato’ Liew Chook San, Chairman of Sungai Ara Community Ambulance Association (SACA), witnessed by YB Azrul Mahathir Bin Aziz, State Assemblyman for Bayan Lepas, Dato’ Malkit Singh, Legal Advisor of SACA and Mr. Yong June Siang, Chairman of Taman Sungai Ara Village Community Management Council (MPKK).
Dato’ Liew expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Government of Japan and the people of Japan for the generous contribution of the lifesaving equipment. He said the equipment received will be able to enhance their service for the community.
Consul General Mr. Kawaguchi congratulated the Association for the successful completion of the project. He hoped that through this cooperation, which is the symbol of goodwill and friendly relations, the relationship between the people of Japan, Penang and Malaysia will become stronger and stronger.
