Signing ceremony of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects 2021

The Government of Japan has awarded the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects 2021 to the Co-operative Society for People with Disabilities (NGO). The signing ceremony of the Grant Contract has been held at the office of the Consul-General of Japan in Penang.
An overview of the project is given below.
＜The Project for the Empowerment of Young Adults with Intellectual Disabilities through Integrated Agriculture and Livestock＞
Recipient：Co-operative Society for People with Disabilities
Grant amount：USD 71,138 (equivalent to 295,624 Malaysian Ringgit)
Items：
Poultry structure with rain shading system
Integrated Compos Tower, Compos house
Aquaponics System
Goat pen structure
Mushroom House
Mixer Machine, Chopper Machine, Water pump, Water Tank,
Backpack brush cutter, Earth Auger Machine
External Audit Fee
Purpose：
The grant will be used to develop agricultural facilities and equipment on the premises of the Kelantan Department of Social Welfare, and to improve the environment for the recipient’s capacity building training in the agricultural field for young people with intellectual disabilities in Kelantan. This training will give employment opportunities to young people. In addition, this training will be provided for instructors at rehabilitation centers in each district of Kelantan.
