Celebration of SEAMEO RECSAM – JICA 40 Years Partnership

On the 21st of January 2022, the Consul-General Mr. Orikasa attended the celebration of SEAMEO Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics (SEAMEO RECSAM)-Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) 40 years partnership.
JICA is a governmental agency in charge of administering majority of the Government of Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA). It is mandated with assisting economic and social growth in developing countries and the promotion of international cooperation.
SEAMEO RECSAM was founded in 1967 with the main objective of helping member countries to improve the teaching of science and mathematics.
Two JICA volunteers, Mr. Onishi Hiroshi and Mr. Yokotsuka Syohei were dispatched to SEAMEO RECSAM in 2022.
During the event, Mr. Orikasa expressed his hopes that this celebration will encourage greater cooperation and strengthen the partnership between JICA and SEAMEO RECSAM.
