J-Library Membership
Do you want to borrow the books,
videos and CDs?
All you have to do is to become a member of J-library and you will have access in borrowing the books, CDs and videos in the library.
Membership qualification
The membership of J-Library is opened to all those living in the states of Penang, Kedah, Perak, Perlis, Trengganu and Kelantan. The
membership is free of charge.
Members' Privileges
Members are allowed to borrow a maximum of 2 books, 2 videos and, 2 CDs for seven days. If you borrow on Wednesday, you must return
by the following Wednesday.
Application
Fill in the application form and submit it together with two photos (IC size) to the Consulate-General of Japan. (Please affix one
photo to the application form.)
Membership Card
You will be required to submit your J-Library membership card when you borrow any J-Library’s materials. J–Library membership card
is valid for two years, it will be issued upon your application and you will be able to borrow after one week upon the date of submission.
Renewal of the Membership
Submit the application form together with two photos (IC size) to the Consulate-General of Japan. (Please affix one photo to the application
form.)
Loss of the Membership card
Please inform the Consulate-General of Japan immediately.
Loss and damage of the Items
Any loss of and damage to the items caused by the members must be replaced and/or repaired, the cost of which will be borne by members.
Legal action may be taken in the case of neglect.
Late Return
Members will be given 20 points each with their J-Library membership. For every late return of items borrowed, members’ points will
be deducted and when members’ points reached 0, their membership will be automatically terminated.
For each item returned a point will be deducted for every number of days which had exceeded the expiry date. Please refer to the example

All resources, printed and recorded items are copyright protected. No authorized duplication is allowed and if this offence is committed
we are forced to prosecute the offender under Malaysian law.
